Ignacio Pérez G.
Co- founder and guide
Ignacio was born in Santiago, and has four years of experience in the field of tourism. During his childhood, he went to live on Easter Island. There, he began to learn other languages and made friends from all over the world. His interest and curiosity about languages, culture, business and human relationships increased throughout the years and inspired him to search for a profession that allowed him to combine all of these subjects. In 2010, he began to study tourism engineering, finishing with success in 2014. Then, he decided to study a master´s degree in business. After this, he got a scholarship to do a European Master on Wine Tourism innovation in France, Portugal, and Spain. Today, he is back in Chile to apply what he has learned abroad in our country.
While he was studying tourism, Ignacio met his friend and partner Sven Bornemann. Soon after City Trekking Guide was born. Our goal is to provide private, friendly, amusing and high-quality travel guide services to those who decide to enjoy the capital and its surrounding areas as a Chilean would. Languages: Spanish, English, Portuguese.
Sven Bornemann
Co- founder and guide
Born in Germany, Sven has been in Chile for more than five years. He has lived in four different continents, and believes that volunteering in Africa was one of his best life experiences. In Santiago, Chile, while studying tourism engineering, he met Ignacio and Fernando, with whom he started this project in 2010. Since its inception, the goal of City Trekking Guide has been to show travelers the true spirit of the Chilean capital, with all its facets, in an informative, relaxed and motivated trekking setting, all with an enthusiastic guide. Currently, Sven is also working with International Transporting, but helps City Trekking Guides with ideas and translations to promote the growth of the company.
Languages: German, Spanish and English.
Fernando Pérez G.
Co- founder and guide
Born in Chile, Fernando Perez also shares the passion of meeting new people and creating genuine friendships all over the world. In 2012, he earned his degree in Journalism and has worked for CNN news and Mega news over the past several years.
Fernando studied English throughout his years in school, which he speaks fluently. He also lived in Brazil for four months where he learned to speak Portuguese at an advanced level. These experiences have offered him a new perspective of the world. When his brother Ignacio and Sven approached him with the opportunity to create the company, he agreed without hesitation. He loved the idea because it incorporated two of the things he liked most: Interaction with new people, and languages. Much like Sven and Ignacio, Fernando’s principal motivation is to give the very best experience to the travelers who desire to get to know Santiago like a real Chilean.
Languages: Spanish, English and Portuguese.
Juliette Boyer
Communication officer and translator
As a student of ISIT Paris, Juliette had to work as an intern abroad for several months, so she decided to spend the summer of 2014 in Chile in order to deepen her knowledge of Spanish language and discover South-America.
In Santiago, she met Ignacio, Fernando and Sven and quickly became interested in their company. She decided to work for City Trekking Guide as a communication director and translator in French and English, but only as a freelance since she was already an intern at LAR Gestión y Desarrollo, a sustainable architecture and urbanism company. Just like her fellow workers, Juliette likes discovering new places and meeting new people. After taking several tours with Ignacio and Fernando, she can legitimately declare that their service has been tested and approved!
